چکیده
Objective: Maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max) can be estimated using maximal or sub-maximal tests, by direct indirect methods. The Queen’s College Step Test (QCT) is used very frequently to estimate VO2max due its simple, safe, quick and feasible approach. Originally the QCT was developed for white race population, which different from Indian population in terms of ethnicity. So present study conducted validate applicability indirectly adults. Material Methods: A total 419 apparently healthy students (male female) were recruited RUHS Medical Sciences (RUHS-CMS), Jaipur January 2019 March 2020 random number table generator sampling. Direct estimation performed exercise testing on a treadmill gas analyzer, while predicted standard protocol. The collected data entered into Microsoft Excel analyzed unpaired student t-test, analysis variance (ANOVA), regression analysis. Results: average directly measured (ml/kg/min) males 45.30±7.35, women 35.71±5.29, 49.01 38.83±5.30 females. difference between mean (PVO2max) values statistically significant (p-value<0.05). Conclusion: In this study, actual lower than QCT. results suggest that new equation derived data, recommended assess especially when large numbers participants need tested absence well-equipped laboratory.
